nursery
In creating this space for my daughter I wanted her to feel calm, inspired, and surrounded by love. Almost every single item has a story. The butterflies are from my husband's collection passed down from his grandmother, the African dolls he got on safari as a kid, the Thonet side table was an eBay find, the blanket hand-knit by a friend, and the rocker was used to by my great-grandmother to rock my grandfather as a baby.
The crib is by Oeuf, the changing table from Ikea.
The mini gallery includes drawings by her paternal grandmother, a photo of her dad as a baby, and gifts from friends.
The light in the corner provides the perfect soft glow, and the mobile is from Etsy.

The past couple of months I have just been completely in love with and in awe of our sweet baby girl, Carter Rose Cadenhead. I feel like Buzz and I are getting the hang of this parenting thing - as much as one can I suppose. We definitely cherish every moment and are having so much fun along the way.
Soon I will post all the details of her nursery that has been the most fun project to date. So many personal items like the rocking chair my Grandfather was rocked in as a baby, artwork by my husband's mother and some eBay finds.
And although there are more aesthetically pleasing baby items on the market, sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands and make a wooden baby gym.
Not that we are professionals by any means - but a few items have really been helpful these first two months: The Ergobaby wrap has allowed me to be productive while snuggling, the Stokke bouncer allows my sous chef to watch comfortably, Charlie Banana diapers have kept her skin free from irritation, the Boppy makes breastfeeding so much easier on the back and neck, Aden + Anais swaddles are the best, and Dr Seuss - especially The Lorax - is a favorite already.

wyoming
In late June my husband, sister-in-law and I had the chance to take a couple of horses from Malibu up to Jackson, Wyoming. We stopped over in Zion, and I got a small taste of its incredible beauty. Then, it was off to another dreamland. Jackson was a blast - the scenery, the cowboys, the rodeos, the restaurants, the home finds. I cannot wait to go back.
