This past Saturday some friends and I had a great day downtown: First stop was the flower mart, then, of course, a coffee at Handsome Guys, a quick peek at Kelly Wearstler's warehouse sale, the most delicious lunch at Bar Ama, and finally some time to arrange all the beautiful flora we purchased.
I love utilizing the 'scraps' and making these mini arrangements for bud vases and spontaneous gifts.
This one was for my mom, so I wanted to capture a mix of sweetness, serenity, beauty and strength.
These were a few I made for the office.
Our workstation included sparkling rose to fuel the creativity.
And this arrangement was made for my home because of my current obsession with thistles. Especially these purple-blue ones!

After being away the past couple weekends, I am so excited to have some time to...
Look for some cool leather pants to wear with sneaks.
Enjoy a BBQ involving tennis, hiking, and yumminess.
Work on the house. Hang some more art (finally). Design the daybed for the guest room. Prep for the new countertops.
And of course have a little beach time with my love.

Finding time to work on our own home has been difficult these past few months. This weekend we are forcing ourselves to take some time and finish a few items on our list. We love the concrete floor, but want to darken it just a tad, and reseal. Next up is the kitchen, where we are going to paint the cabinets and change the countertops. And baseboards... and hanging art work... and a backsplash for the kitchen... it's a never-ending project, but that's the fun of it.

Nothing compares to vinyl. Luckily my husband has quite the collection. Although I give him a hard time about his "collecting," this is one collection I utilize.

This room makes me so happy. The rich blue couch is great, but that piano, that piano makes this room. You can tell it makes this home. And you can tell it is loved and treasured. As it should be.
